Three Effective ways of stop smoking used by many ex-smokers

Written by V Pender on 11/21/2009

Did you know that in 1964 roughly one half of all Americans smoked cigarettes? Some may consider this figure shocking but it makes sense when you consider the fact that the Surgeon General's warning did not debut until 1971. At this point, many people finally realized the benefits of quitting smoking. However, many people still smoke and have a tough time quitting due to the extreme difficulty that is common with giving up a tobacco addiction. And yes, smoking cigarettes is most definitely an addiction. This is, of course, a result of the inclusion of nicotine in tobacco. So, is there any hope for those looking to quit smoking? Yes, there are a variety of products and tactics that can be employed for reversing the hold that nicotine can have on a cigarette smoker.

For those curious about how to quit smoking, the following three methods can prove enormously helpful:

Nicotine Transdermal Patches: Remember the old television commercials that first promoted this product? They were built around the catch phrase that it is the smoke that is harmful and not the nicotine. While this is not 100% accurate, the ability to deliver nicotine to the system without smoke is a major step above smoking cigarettes. In time, this process can lead to quitting cigarettes altogether since the ability to wean off of them through the employment of a patch can be quite likely. The way patches work is relatively simple: they are affixed to the arm or other surface of the skin. From this, nicotine slowly absorbs into the bloodstream. Since nicotine is being delivered to the bloodstream, the desire to smoke a cigarette is reduced to a great degree.

Nicotine Gum: This can be considered a close cousin to the nicotine patch since it follows the basic same concept. That is, nicotine is delivered to the bloodstream in a manner that does not include inhaling smoke and all the carcinogens it contains. (The is no carbon monoxide in nicotine gum) For many, nicotine gum is preferred over patches since the gum also provides a fix to the oral fixation that many cigarette smokers experience. Popping a piece of gum on one's mouth can replace the habit of putting a cigarette in one's mouth. Such replacement therapy can lead to excellent results as far as quitting smoking.

Hypnosis Therapy: This is one of the most popular forms of quitting smoking and it has been so for over three decades. Actually, hypnosis has been used as a means of curing all manner of ills and ailments that are based on psychological issues. And yes, it is true that there are psychological components that can contribute to a smoking habit. By undergoing hypnotherapy, the ability to get to the root of the behavioral problem is possible as is the ability to change is. For many, hypnosis delivers a cure for nicotine addiction that was previously elusive.

Of course, there are other means one can employ to quit tobacco but these three are among the top methods to choose. As such, they remain highly recommended.

Quit Smoking Cigarettes Without Struggle - Even If Other Methods Have Failed You!

Written by V Pender on 11/15/2009

I used to smoke cigarettes.  Quitting was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.  It didn’t have to be hard.  In fact, it could have been practically effortless, but I was ignorant of that fact. I didn’t know about Steve G. Jones.

I smoked for eight years, not a long time compared to some, but I started at age fourteen, so it was really a part of my being, my way of life.  To be honest, the idea of quitting smoking seemed downright depressing.  Cigarettes felt like a friend, an ally, and a life without cigarettes seemed a dismal prospect.

But like you, I knew that was a false sense of comfort – that the cigarettes, and the thousand of carcinogenic chemicals in them, were aging my body and breaking down my immune system, slowly but surely. I had a bad “smoker’s cough” for a twenty-two year old.  Eventually cigarettes would kill me if I didn’t quit, and eventually they will kill you too if you don’t quit.

If you didn’t want to stop, you wouldn’t be reading this right now. You know you need to stop smoking.  When I stopped, it was through sheer willpower.  I’ll spare you the details, but suffice to say it sucked, and I never want to go through it again.  In fact, the raw “unpleasantness” of it kept me from picking the smokes up again after I got past that first excruciating week.

As I said, there is a much easier way, with self-hypnosis.  Why inflict distress on yourself needlessly?

Steve G. Jones has perfected a system to help you quit smoking effortlessly.  Too bad he was still in school completing his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology while I was wrestling with my smoking demon. He also has a Master in Education and is on the verge of getting his Doctorate in Education. More importantly, he is one of the foremost experts on self-hypnosis.

This guy could hypnotize a barnyard chicken and get it climbing trees and growling like a grizzly bear! When he sets his sights on creating a system to help people change their behavior, you had better believe he succeeds.

In fact, there is no one more qualified to create a self-hypnosis based program to help you quit smoking cigarettes forever. Steve has impeccable credentials and a reputation in his field that is second-to-none:

  • A Master’s degree in Education
  • Board certified Clinical Hypnotherapist who has been practicing hypnotherapy for over 20 years
  • The author of 22 books on Hypnotherapy !
  • A member in good standing of the National Guild of Hypnotists and American Board of Hypnotherapy
  • President of the American Alliance of Hypnotists
  • On the board of directors of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Lung Association
  • Director of the Steve G. Jones School of Clinical Hypnotherapy
  • A member in good standing of the International Registry of Professional Hypnotists

Steve G. Jones knows what he is talking about, and you owe it to yourself to learn more.  It’s his dedication to the goals of the American Lung Association that have compelled him to create a program that can help every man, woman, and underage smoker quit smoking if they want to.

The fundamental difference is that his program doesn’t require willpower.  Here’s why hypnosis works when it comes to quitting smoking: (in Steve’s own words): “If you are smoking cigarettes, it’s because you associate more rewards with smoking, and more consequence with quitting.  In reality however, there is more reward with not smoking and tons of consequences with continuing to smoke. You get your associations all mixed up and begin doing things that you think bring reward, but in reality bring many negative consequences.”

His new self-hypnosis program, Smoke Free Power, includes a two-part learning system, which will reprogram your mind to stop smoking forever. This program was specifically designed for people who have tried, and failed, to quit smoking using other methods in the past. That doesn’t matter, and don’t let it discourage you. There is a good reason those program or methods failed – because they didn’t address the root cause of your desire to smoke – your subconscious mind’s association of cigarettes with what it perceives as rewards.  He’ll fix that. You will stop smoking, guaranteed.

In Part One, called the Consequential Reprogramming Module, using his powerful hypnosis methods, Steve will clear out all of the mental misconceptions that you have about smoking that are ultimately preventing you from quitting. He will help you reverse the reward/consequence associations that are keeping you locked in to a habit that doesn’t really serve you.

In Part Two, called (appropriately enough) Banish Smoking Module, you will learn techniques to banish cravings, overcome withdrawals, and how to eliminate the idea of smoking form your mind, forever, and numerous other techniques to reprogram your brain so that you simply don’t want or crave cigarettes or the rituals or routine of smoking.

Once you’ve completed the program, you won’t have to worry about relapsing.  You can go out drinking with your friends, and not “get weak” or fall back into old habits, which is common when you are in a smoking environment and having a good time.

You owe it to yourself to learn more about Steve and his program.  You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.  After all, his system has a money back guarantee. That’s why he was contacted by Tom Mankiewicz, the guy who wrote the screenplay for the movie Superman. Here’s what Tom had to say about Steve’s formula to stop smoking: “If you want to quit smoking, Steve G Jones can make the difference. He did with me!”

Tom is just an ordinary person, like you. He wrote the movie, but he is no superman. But he was smart enough to take action.  It doesn’t matter how effective Steve’s Smoke Free Power system is to help people quit smoking forever, if you don’t take action it can’t help you to quit.  You must take the first step. Here’s how to take action – click the following link now: Smoke Free Power

Kill The Addiction, subtitled Stop smoking withoutquitting

Written by V Pender on 11/15/2009

In trying to solve a problem it seems logical to begin by trying to answer three basic questions. What exactly is the problem? How big is it? And how serious?

The problem is smoking. How big? The World population is between five and six billion. It is estimated that 25% of adults smoke. That is 1,300,000,000 smokers. Makes you wonder how sunlight ever breaks through! It is also estimated that half of the World's children are exposed to second hand smoke. How serious is the problem? DEADLY! If I were to list all the terrible health results of smoking and the horrific ways in which smoking kills, this would be a very long article indeed. Suffice it to say that these deadly consequences are well beyond proven.

There is also a very interesting aspect to this problem, however. It is estimated that about 70% of these smokers actually WANT to quit, presumably permanently. Most will have tried to quit, meaning that they have succeeded in stopping, only to resume later. So here we are with 910,000,000,000 (almost a billion) smokers looking for a solution.

There is a plethora of so-called solutions, from pills to patches to prescriptions, special foods, drinks, diets, chewing gum or candy, acupuncture and hypnosis, creams, lotions, excercises, brainwashing at clinics and seminars, magic and meditation, prayer, low-poison or no-poison fake cigarettes, huge doses of willpower, prolonged tapering-off or a desperate buddy system. The truth about all of these is that for the vast majority of would-be quitters they represent undue effort, unecessary expense, false hope and finally major disappointment, leading to further reduction in self-confidence and self-esteem. Why? Because for the most part these quit-smoking solutions DO NOT WORK!

Let us then construct a model with all the characteristics that an ideal stop-smoking method should include.

First, having disposed of all those invasive and intrusive solutions that generally fail, our ideal method must logically be Non-invasive and Non-intrusive. No big mind-stretch to agree to that.

Second, it has to be Cost-effective. There is no reason to spend more than is absolutely necessary, especially in these currently challenging economic times.

In third place, I would suggest that it must be Repeatable. With all the gimmicks and gadgets we eliminated above, once they fail it is unlikely they will be tried again. Our ideal method should be such that a failed first attempt may be attributed to indecision (the most likely reason for failure) so that the practitioner may tighten up his/her resolve and go for a second try.

In fourth place I suggest the method should be followed in Private. The concept of applying the “buddy-system” to such a difficult process as quitting smoking is absurd. What can a buddy do for you when you are fighting internal demons? Hold your hand?

Fifth, and here's a tough one, the method must be Painless. There just has to be a way to avoid the hellish cravings and other nasty symptoms that smokers trying to quit lay claim to.

Number six is demanding, but not impossible. It must be Easy. Easy in the sense that what is asked of the smoker must be true, straightforward, believable and achievable. Goes back to being painless, too. And finally, number seven in our “Seven Pillars of Wisdom” is that it must be rewarding. . . you might almost say Euphoric! Having succeeded, the would-be smoke-free user of this method will be elated, not least because she/he has done it alone, with help from nobody and no "things." As a result, the feeling of increased self-confidence and self-esteem will be paramount.

John English, ex-smoker and quitter for 50 years, is author of the book KILL THE ADDICTION, Stop Smoking: Without Quitting, which left him smoke-free for the past 8 years. His revolutionary method meets all seven criteria discussed in this article and he invites your comments at his blog, http://killtheaddiction.blogspot.com/

John English was born in Grenoble, France in 1930 to an English teacher and his french wife. Raised in England he left for Canada at the age of 21, made it his home and eventually became Canadian CEO for three consecutive multinational companies in the Beauty products business, over a 25 year span. Now retired, he and his wife divide their time equally between Florida and Canada.

Zyban Quit Smoking Drug: Takes the Form of a Pill Prescribed by Lots of Doctors

Written by V Pender on 11/10/2009

/>

Many people when asked to give up smoking end up being angry and frustrated when they decide to quit their habit. More than giving up the smoking habit, the actual challenge occurs when these nicotine withdrawal symptoms come into surface. Doctors may recommend nicotine replacement therapies which include nicotine patches, nicotine gums, etc. Although therapies such as these are at times effective, it might not always give the desired results to help a person quit smoking once and for all. This is where quit smoking drugs such as Zyban come into focus.
The history of the Zyban quit smoking drug is quite interesting. Although many relate Zyban with quitting smoking, it was actually used as an anti-depressant in the past. To decrease the cravings one had towards cigarettes, doctors used to prescribe the anti-depressant medication Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin came with an active ingredient by the name of Bupropion. With time, research carried out on the drug further proved that the drug was also known to be effective in treating smoking addiction. Once this was known, the producers of the drug Wellbutrin repackaged, renamed and marketed it as the Zyban quit smoking drug.
Zyban takes the form of a pill and is prescribed by many doctors today. Unlike the nicotine patches or gum, the Zyban quit smoking drug does not increase more nicotine in the body. The best attribute of the Zyban quit smoking drug is that it decreases the cravings a person has towards nicotine, it also lessens nicotine withdrawal symptoms such as depression, irritability, anger, anxiety, etc. This medication is usually prescribed by a qualified specialist and is recommended to be used for a minimum period of 8 to 12 weeks, taken twice daily. Once the addiction has subsided, it is advisable to discontinue the use of the drug.
The Zyban quit smoking drug also has its set of side effects. A few of such side effects might include; dry mouth, dizziness, sleeping disorders, an occurrence of a skin rash, headaches, excessive sweating, etc.
Pregnant women and one’s who are nursing are not advised to use this drug as this can hurt the child. Zyban is very popular as an anti-depressant as it does not cause any sexual dysfunctions in people, making them live a better life.
In addition to all the above stated side effects, the Bupropion in the drug has resulted in a lot of seizures. Due to this reason, doctors rarely prescribe the Zyban quit smoking drug to anyone who suffer from epileptic conditions. The most important thing to do would be to get a consultation by a doctor before beginning on any procedure.

A1 Method to Quit Smoking and Ease Withdrawal Symptoms

Written by V Pender on 11/10/2009

Are you desperately searching for a method to quit smoking and ease withdrawal symptoms? Are you a smoker who is on the verge of quitting but fear the withdrawal symptoms might prove to be too much for you? As an ex smoker myself, I know exactly what you are going through but I overcame my nicotine addiction and you can too! Let me show you how a nicotine replacement aid can help.

Today's market is just oozing with proven, effective nicotine replacement aids that work to get you over the major withdrawal hurdles. The aids can tame the uncomfortable symptoms of withdrawal and almost double your chances of being successful in quitting.

As you know, nicotine is the addictive agent in tobacco products. Your body and your brain get so used to having it that they begin to believe nicotine in your system is normal. When you quit, your body and brain no longer get their fix of nicotine and withdrawal symptoms begin.

Both your body and your brain will tell you to light up. Just have one more. Your craving to smoke will become overwhelming. You start to become cranky and irritable. This is where the aids come in. They will supply your body with nicotine but without the toxic gases and carcinogens in cigarette smoke. Remember, withdrawal symptoms actually only last a short time and the aids will lessen your symptoms enough to get you through this short phase.

Have your nicotine replacement aid ready to use as soon as you quit. Finding the one that fits your lifestyle is the key. They come in the form of gums, lozenges, patches, inhalers, prescription drugs and sprays. The spray worked best for me but again it is an individual choice. Research and find the aid that is right for you. An exciting new one on the market is Miracet! You might want to check it out!

Fighting the battle to stop smoking is tough challenge but with the right help you can be victorious! When you break the chains of nicotine addiction, you will find a freedom you forgot you once had. Use this method to quit smoking and rediscover that freedom!

Can Mother Nature Help You Quit Smoking

Written by V Pender on 11/04/2009

Mother Nature Can Help You Quit Smoking Today, it is well known that smoking is a habit that invites nothing but grief, not only to oneself but also to all the surrounding people. With this raising awareness, more and more people are genuinely trying to quit smoking. Some find it easy and some find it terribly difficult – depending upon the degree of addiction and their own will power. The good news is that Mother Nature can effectively support you in this daunting task.

/>

Quit Smoking – The Natural Way.
The reason for the high rate of failure of quit smoking plans is that most people hate the withdrawal symptoms that follow – such as depression, craving for nicotine, anxiety attacks, irritability, body ache, lack of sleep, interference with body functions (mostly when the person was in habit to go to the toilet or sleep only after lighting a cigarette) and so on.

Some of the most popular herbal quit smoking aids are described hereunder. Choose one or a combination of two or more and get rid of this deadly habit. You could take the advice of homeopaths and herbal doctors (ayurvedic doctors) to help you decide which combination works best for you. You could also buy the herbal products that are already available on the market. These are used as patches on the skin and hence are very easy to use.

1. Gotu Cola – this is an herb that literally clears the head and improves the sharpness of the brain. It is particularly beneficial in the quit smoking process as it fights anxiety attacks and increases the level of concentration.

2. Avena Sativa – this is an herb that has been used to fight serious drug addictions (such as opium) with great success for centuries. This herb too, prevents anxiety attacks and reduces the craving for and dependency on many harmful substances.

3. Garcinia cambogia – one of the side effects experienced during quit smoking process is sudden weight-gain. This could be because people feel depressed and substitute the smoking habit with that of eating. Garcinia cambogia is classified as a citrus and is an excellent appetite suppressant. At the same time it raises the rate of the metabolism thereby increasing the rate of burning fat.
This means a double bonus – reducing the compulsion to eat and reducing the weight. There are many other wonder herbs that can help with your quit smoking plans. Some of these are bayberry, ginger root, eucalyptus, skullcap and safflower. Let nature help you quit smoking today.

Surefire Ways To Stop Smoking And Get Rid Of The Addiction Once and For All

Written by V Pender on 11/04/2009

Quit Smoking Easily with CiggArrest

Quitting your smoking habit is always easier said than done. The initial week is often the most difficult stage in the process due to the withdrawal symptoms that an individual had to contend with. Knowing about the most effective methods to quit smoking will therefore provide you with the most powerful tool against an ensuing addiction.

First and foremost, you need to trust in yourself that you can succeed in quitting; if not, then you will eventually go back to your old habit.

To make it easier for you to overcome this challenge, come up with a set of rewards that will keep yourself motivated. If possible, you can list it down so you can get a visual and constant reminder of why you are choosing to quit this habit. Read it daily so you can be guided or seek for support from friends or family to remind you about the need to stop smoking.

Determine a quit date that you must work hard to meet. This will enable you to work on it efficiently instead of always putting off your efforts since you cannot resist having a cigarette stick. If it is more difficult than you might have anticipated, there is nothing wrong about consulting a professional physician or psychologists to overcome the physical and psychologist barriers to your objective.

For a healthier approach, you can not just quit smoking and still adapt an unhealthy lifestyle pattern. Make sure to develop an exercise program that will relieve all stress off your body and regain vitality that were damaged by years of habitual smoking. About 30 to 40 minutes of daily exercise in 3 to 4 times a week should be enough to rebuild your health.

Since smoking directly affects your respiratory system, you can regularly perform deep breathing to boost your lung capacity. Approximately 3-5 minutes of deep breathing exercises on a daily basis should be enough to work out your lung muscles. When you couple this with visualization, it will further reinforce your focus on imagining yourself as a non-smoker.

Practically speaking, you must gradually cut back on your smoking habit while you do the above steps. One thing you need to learn is that abruptly quitting smoke won't do since it will only trigger nicotine cravings. So, do this gradually to give your body a time to adapt until it no longer craves for cigarette. You can try using CiggArest, which contains natural herb Lobelia inflata as a substitute for the highly-addictive nicotine without the harmful effects on your body.

Like cigarette

, it comes with calming properties that enables you to deal with stress effectively. This is most effective when used during the first couple of weeks upon withdrawal from smoking so your body does not feel deprived.

5 Reasons to Stop Smoking

Written by V Pender on 10/30/2009

I am going to give you 5 reasons to stop smoking. As an ex smoker, I know that sometimes a simple nudge in the right direction can be all the incentive we need to finally quit smoking. My nudge came 15 years ago when my daughter told me I would not be allowed to hold my first grandbaby if I still smoked. I quit the same day she made that statement. I admit it was rough and I needed help to do it but it can be done! I sincerely hope when you read my reasons to stop smoking you will find one that gives you the incentive to quit.

1. Health

Within twenty minutes of taking your last puff on a cigarette, your body will begin healing itself from the damages of smoking. It is a great feeling to wake up every morning knowing you are healthier than you were the day before.

2. Cost

Depending on where you live, the average cost of a pack of cigarettes is $4.50 to $5.00. However, nicotine addiction is costly in more ways than just the initial purchase. Smoking could also cost you a job since many companies are turning smokers away. There is also the additional expensive of trying to keep your home, car and clothing from smelling like an ashtray.

3. Self Esteem

Today's smokers are made to feel like second class citizens. Your self esteem takes a beating when others look down on because of your addiction.

4. Sex

Smoking may have been sexy back in the day of Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn but we all know that no longer holds true.

4. Freedom

What a wonderful life when you no longer have to worry about being chained to a pack of cigarettes. Never again to worry if a restaurant has a smoking section or whether or not your friends will let you smoke in their homes. Go to work and forget about how many puffs you can get in on a fifteen minute break. Never again search the sofa cushions for enough change to get a pack. Walk or run without feeling like your lungs are going to explode! Enter into any social situation and know you look and smell great!

We know it is not easy to break a nicotine addiction but it can be done. When I quit I used a nicotine replacement aid. It worked for me and one can work for you. Find your reasons to stop smoking and then arm yourself with whatever aid you need to help you reach your goal!

Best Way to Quit Smoking - Be Rid of the Habit Once and For All

Written by V Pender on 10/16/2009

Cigarettes are parasitic—they take.  When you choose to smoke, a brainwashing occurs that makes you, the addict, believe that you receive something beneficial from smoking.  Cigarettes not only negatively impact your lungs, heart, and skin; they also affect your nervous system which ultimately takes a toll on your self-esteem.  Where is the benefit?  You convinced yourself to believe a lie.

You Believed a Lie

You became addicted to cigarettes by believing a series of lies.  It is time to know the truth.  In fact, smoking drains your time.  Imagine the hands of a clock.  Now imagine that the hands race each other around and around as fast as possible rather than measure time.  The clockmaker changed the goals and purpose of the clock.  This is what cigarette smoking does—it speeds up time and ages you. It changes your goals and purpose.  Your choice to smoke robs you.  In all honesty, it is not just an issue of your life span, but also your quality of life that is lessened.  The time you spend smoking is time you are not spending working, playing, being creative, loving your loved ones, etc., etc.  We believe we take a moment for ourselves, but cigarettes take moments upon moments from us.

We believe smoking gives us something to look forward to—a smoke after a meal, a smoke with some friends and good conversation, a smoke after a long days work. We lie to ourselves.  There is a whole world out there of things to look forward to that won't leave us with heavy financial consequence and punishing illness in the end.  We believe that we can not quit. We believe it is hard to quit.  Once again, we lie to ourselves.  Your thinking can be your biggest enemy in this case—you conditioned your brain to think in a pattern to preserve the smoking habit at all costs, you being the cost.  You need to reprogram your brain to think in a pattern that preserves your well being!  Discipline is imperative once you actually quit.  If you return to the smoking time and time again, you teach yourself that you can not be trusted and that you are weak.

The moment you feel the urge to smoke and experience a withdrawal, simply be present and feel your emotions and physical reactions.  Just be still. Don't act.  Just breath.  Do not entertain or involve yourself with persistent thoughts.  Try to watch the thoughts like watching a movie.  If you observe  them you are not a victim to them.  Your addiction-preserving thoughts only justify smoking a cigarette, believing that smoking alleviates the urge.  But smoking caused the urge to smoke.  The only thing that can alleviate the urge once and for all is to stop the habit.  Once you focus on the withdrawal pain you realize that it is not nearly as bad as your fear and your over thinking led you to believe.  You see that you can overcome this addiction.  You build confidence and the urge to smoke lessens with each victory.   You live your life, smoke-free!

What Happens When You Stop Smoking?

Written by V Pender on 10/16/2009

Giving up smoking might not be as severe as you fear, and for some it may pass within a few days. However, the side effects of quitting smoking are more rigorous as your body start to recover from the damage caused by smoking. For example, a wet chesty cough means you're getting rid of the rubbish in your lungs and it’s important not to be afraid of what may happen to you when you give up smoking. You need to focus on the positive changes while the side effects of quitting smoking. Most smokers experience some withdrawal symptoms when giving up smoking. These vary from one person to another and can include irritability, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, coughing, restlessness, disturbed sleep and mouth ulcers etc. You don’t need to worry in this situation, and may use some quit smoking help like E Cigarette. The good thing is that your body starts feeling the benefits as soon as you’ve smoked your last cigarette.

The large majority of smokers report that they want to stop but almost nine out of ten smokers state that they want to quit because of a health concern. After health reasons, the next most common reason given for wanting to give up is a financial one. Financial issue sounds quite obvious, because this is one of the reasons that people are switching to E Cigarette. E Cig as it can be refilled by E Liquid is quite cost effective in comparison to tobacco cigarette. Probably around half of all smokers make at least one attempt to stop in a given year but only about 2-3% of smokers succeed in the long term. It is not clear why some attempts to stop succeed and others do not. Smoking fewer cigarettes per day, not needing to smoke first thing in the morning and not suffering from mental health problems, or other addictions are favorable signs.

Many smokers continue smoking not through free choice but because they are addicted to cigarettes. A large part of this addiction arises from dependence on nicotine delivered rapidly to the brain with each puff. Nicotine complied with the established criteria for defining an addictive substance. Addiction does not mean that it is impossible to stop doing something; it just means that there are powerful urges and needs that have to be overcome in order to do so. Anything that can strengthen the resolve to resist these urges and needs or reduce their frequency or intensity can help in overcoming the addiction.

Medications aim to help smokers to stop by reducing the chemically-driven need to smoke while at the same time not themselves providing the same satisfaction as smoking and so not becoming the object of dependence. The assumption is that all the time that the smoker is not taking in nicotine from cigarettes the brain is gradually getting back to normal so that when the course of medication is completed, most smokers will be able to deal with the motivation to smoke without help.

Bryan is currently working on a quit smoking awareness program, and conducting researches on smoking alternatives, tobacco alternatives, E cigarette, e liquids and other areas for quit smoking help.

Stop Smoking Hypnosis Tips-5 Proven Tips to Make Your Stop Smoking Hypnosis Hypnosis Session a Success!

Written by V Pender on 10/11/2009

As you use hypnosis to stop smoking, keep these quit smoking tips in mind. The following stop smoking hypnosis tips will help guide you into a deeper, stronger, and more effective state of trance.

Remember, you’re in control. The hypnotist is just a guide assisting you in the process of awakening your subconscious mind.

Relax
Entering a trance state is about releasing the everyday stressors of your life. As you relax your body, you’ll be able to sense a greater clarity in your thought processes. You’ll be able to venture through the landscape of your mind with a sense of lucidity you might not have ever expected to experience!

Just breathe deeply and concentrate on your heartbeat, letting your thoughts float by without latching onto any one of them.

Stay Focused on the Hypnotist’s Voice
The hypnotist is there to guide you and assist you. The hypnotist will give you suggestions that will reinforce your experience of the hypnotic process, moving you further and further into deep states of trance.

Allow the hypnotist’s voice to fill your conscious mind, occupying it as you explore the exciting landscape of your powerful subconscious mind together.

Allow Yourself to Participate Fully in the Experience--Don’t Hold Back!
Ultimately, the effectiveness of your stress hypnosis session is up to you. Go into the session with a positive mindset, eager to create change in your state of mind.

Negative self-talk will only hold you back, not only in your hypnotic session, but in your life as well. Be ready to create change and open the pathway between your subconscious and conscious mind. You are the master of your own mind. Your willingness to create lasting change will determine the effectiveness of hypnosis on your life.

Hypnosis is a two-way street. It requires vital determination. But, most of all, it requires that you are willing to move into a deep and fulfilling awareness of self.

Notice Any Emotions and Where You Feel Them in Your Body
Believe it or not, we store emotions in specific parts of our body. That is why we usually carry different types of stress in different parts of our back and neck. Massage is an excellent way to release those emotions as well and can effectively be used in conjunction with hypnosis.

During your hypnosis session, pay attention to different feelings in your body. The awareness of where we keep different emotions is key to understanding and controlling them.

If a difficult emotion arises during your session, notice how it feels and moves in your body. Don’t attempt to avoid or repress these feelings. Open them up and explore them. Move your consciousness to the middle of these feelings.

If the feeling comes with a sense of motion or color, try moving the feeling in the opposite direction or assigning it a different, positive-associated color.

Have Fun and Enjoy Yourself
Aha! The most important tip of all time: enjoy yourself!

Hypnosis is a very exciting, fun, and rewarding experience. Many people "wake up" from the experience and feel a light, refreshed, "glowy" sensation in their bodies. Their minds feel clear and easy.

I hope you’re looking forward to your experiences with hypnosis as much as I always do. Have a good time!

When Is The Best Time To Quit Smoking? – Whenever!

Written by V Pender on 10/11/2009

If you are a smoker that's tired of the whole practice, you've probably wondered when is the best time to quit smoking? Well, the answer to that question is: Whenever you really want to. Ask yourself the following questions. Can you really think of any reasons to continue smoking? What is it that you'd be abandoning? What is there to profit by not smoking?

The crucial thing to know about smoking is; it is a decision and a choice. You smoke because you've decided and chosen to, plain and simple. Once you take the time and think about it you'll realize that you can decide and choose to stop smoking as well. No one or no thing can make you stop smoking if you don't want to. You must be willing and ready to quit for your own unique reasons.

When you make the decision and choose to give up smoking you will do so and it will be easy. Preparing to stop smoking and trying to pump yourself up for it can be very challenging, nerve-racking and just plain pointless. Every smoker comes to a point when they've, finally had enough. When you've gotten to your point, you will have all of the enticement you'll ever need and you can make the decision and choose to stop smoking once and for all.

You will feel the exhilaration of knowing that you are in control of your own body. You will also feel a hankering for the nicotine that you will be depriving your body of. This is to be anticipated. However, your perseverance to be the sovereign of your own body and your new found independence will give you the power to triumph over the urge to smoke. You will know the answer to the question, when is the best time to quit smoking?

Do not give up! Even if you have a weak moment and smoke a cigarette, you can always quit again. Just because you smoked a cigarette doesn't mean that you have to continue for another 5 or 10 years. Simply decide to give it up again. You must remember that you have the ultimate control over your own body. The hankering for nicotine will diminish more and more, the longer that you stay off of the cigarettes. Therefore, it will be easier to give up smoking as more time goes by, without the intake of nicotine.

Did you know that you could cut the time of craving nicotine in half by detoxifying your lungs? Once you have cleaned your lungs of the tar and nicotine, the cravings will cease forever. http://todayistheday-2-stopsmoking.com/

Stop Smoking Fast and Naturally - 2 Amazingly Simple Tips to Quit Smoking Fast!

Written by V Pender on 10/04/2009

If you are a college student or a teenager, smoking cigarettes is a phase you go through.  Most young adults take on smoking because of social reasons and high stress levels.  Though people make quitting hard on themselves, it is really an easy philosophy.

Just Say No.

Honestly, think about it this way when it comes to smoking, you have a choice.  Choice is one of the greatest gifts we have been given as humans.  We can decide whether or not we want to do something.  It all comes down to if you really want to or not.  Sure, quitting smoking may be difficult if you are constantly around people who smoke, but make a better situation out of it.  Realize that if you are trying to quit, and are in a room full of smokers, those people envy you!  Those people wish they could be like you, and that should be enough motivation to keep you on the right track to quitting smoking.

You Don't Want To Go Back On Your Word.  Prove People Wrong!

There is no pride in saying you are going to do something and then going back on your word.  When a smokers tells another smoke that they are going to quit, be honest, the other person know that you are probably just telling yourself you are going to quit but really they have no faith in you.  So, when you attempt to quit, and do not succeed, the person who was informed you were going to quit has just been proven correct.  So, if you are going to quit, keep it to yourself and do it for yourself just in case you do not succeed in quitting the first time.  If you insist on telling someone, this is a great way to keep yourself from picking up smoking again because you do not want to be known as that person who constantly tries to quit but can never successfully do it because they fall for peer pressure easily.

Quit Smoking Weed Out Of A Can! Lung Cancer Is Just The Beginning

Written by V Pender on 10/04/2009

Smoking weed out of a can is one of the most hazardous ways to ingest cannabis. What we're talking about here are aluminum cans from soda or beer or something like that, used as a home-made pipe sort of a device. It's a dangerous method if used over long periods of time, and should only be your last resort if no other method to smoke weed is available. Unlike a bong, it does not filter out the smoke through a liquid. And, unlike a blunt, there are other chemicals besides plant leaf that you inhale, like aluminum paint and adhesives. These are NOT good for your lungs, which is why smoking marijuana from a can should not be done frequently. Besides, it doesn't even look cool - smoking bud should be a socializing process, after all.

Making a can pipe is very simple, which is why a lot of teenagers are allured to it; it makes smoking weed possible almost anywhere where there's a gas station. Buy your soda, and drink it, or pour it out if you aren't thirsty and want to get high right then and there. You can discard the can opener that you squeeze to push the top of the can through to make your drinking hole. The drinking hole will be your mouth piece. Hold the can horizontally, the mouth piece facing you, and rotate it until the hole is at the top. Make a small indent in the top of the can with your thumb, it should be maybe half an inch deep at most. Using a needle or a thumbtack (the easiest would be a thumbtack), make about 20-30 holes in close proximity to each other inside of that indentation. The end result should look like this:

Throw your bud in the top of the can, where the indent is. The holes serve as the "pipe's" screen, letting the weed rest there, yet you can still inhale it. Light it, and start inhaling after 3-4 seconds of the bud being exposed to open flame. As an optional upgrade, you can make a hole through the other side of the pipe, opposite your mouth piece. This will be your "shotgun" that you put a finger over while hitting the bud, and at the end you'll release it, making all the built-up smoke inside the can exit through the mouth piece and straight into your lungs. Those hits are really harsh, so a shotgun is recommended only for experienced users.

Once again, this should ALWAYS be a last resort method. A vaporizer is much safer. If you smoke weed out of a can frequently, you inhale the paint and other aluminum-related chemicals just as often. Stick to a bong or roll joints, but don't try to smoke from a can a lot. It's quick and convenient, but there's a downside to it, and the health risks associated with smoking out of a can are just not worth it. If you're curious, take a look at the can once you're done smoking. Empty out the residue charcoal-black plant from the indent in the can, and look at it. It'll be stained with black tar and other crap - and that's just on the small outside part of the can. Imagine what's inside the can, and in your lungs.

Smoking is bad for you! The author recommends that you quit now. Detox your lungs! http://bit.ly/lungdetox
