Wouldn't it be nice if you could have a sure fire way to quite smoking in just one try? Well, what would you say if there was a way that you could do that. This is called laser therapy, and a lot of people call it laser quit smoking therapy. First of all, you need to note that this kind of therapy works much like acupuncture, but without all the painful needles. With the laser, they have certain points of the body that they work on like the ears, nose, wrist, forearm and, of course, the hands. The great thing about these treatments is that they are very relaxing and completely pain free. In fact, this will be the most pleasant experience that you have ever had while trying to quite smoking! There are three main areas that this kind of laser therapy works on, and we will cover those three areas now. The first thing that this treatment is going to do is treat the points of the body that can help you block your nicotine addiction. This, of course, is going to help you come up with the will power to stop smoking once and for all. The next thing that it is going to do is treat the diet points in your body to help you control your appetite during this time so that you do not have a lot of weight gain. As people stop smoking, they tend to eat more, and this will help avoid that. Last, but not least, it is also going to treat the stress points of your body. This will help you and the people around you not have to deal with the irritability and bad temperament that usually comes with quitting smoking on your own.

Quit Smoking With Affirmations

Written by V Pender on 11/01/2008

Should we start with statistics? Should we talk about health in relation to smoking? Should we discuss the costs? How about the time wasted? No matter what we discuss about smoking, there is nothing positive to say. The problem lies in how to quit smoking. The solution:

Most smokers believe they can quit, but they don't want to. Albeit, quitting smoking can be trying at times, however, it is not impossible. In fact, quitting smoking is not all that difficult if you have the right attitude. The right attitude consists of different things: having the desire, having the will, persistence, determination, strength, distancing from any cigarette reminders, setting target date, sticking to the target date, and changing your lifestyle.

These days across North America, smokers find themselves smoking in back alleys, on the streets, away from entrances, etc. Gone are the glory days when it was cool to smoke and even doctors did, in the hospital while tending to patients. Now, smokers are plain alienated and not welcomed. There is no fun in smoking outside in -20 degree weather or going to bar and having to smoke outside without your drink. Face the facts: SMOKERS NOT WANTED! There are even cities that don't allow smoking in public. Eventually it will be illegal to smoke in your own home. The time to quit is now.

Muster up all your strength, because this is one important step that can help you quit smoking. This first step is about envisioning yourself as a non-smoker. Do this for a couple of weeks before your target date. Take time throughout each day, at least 3 times each day; picture yourself without the "smoker" label. Imagine:

  • being in your home which now smells like vanilla or whatever your favorite aroma is.
  • waking up and not running to get your coffee and the first cigarette of the day, instead you're waking up and running to get fit!
  • all the extra time you have in the morning, you can actually tidy up before heading off to work.
  • how good you'll smell and how everyone will notice your perfume or cologne.
  • your lungs clean, your skin glowing as the grey tone slowly dissipates.
  • looking up to ten years younger, because you will.
  • getting things done and not standing on a corner smoking in the unbearable cold or heat like a loser.

Start imagining a better life with the affirmation tips mentioned above. You may want to add more to that list. The trick is to run them through your mind often. The mind is very powerful and can be persuaded to believe something, anything, even quitting smoking with affirmations. This will definitely help you from your target date and on.

Isn't it time you Quit Smoking! Get more affirmation tips that will inspire you to succeed this time around and finally call yourself a NON-SMOKER. Find other valuable tips and available tools and aids that will change your life by clicking here

Ten-Ways to Stop Smoking Now - A Clinician's List of Popular Smoking Cessation Methods

Written by V Pender on 10/31/2008

I have been helping people stop smoking for years; and, I have used a variety of methods. I can tell you from experience that no one way is better than any other way - they all work to a certain extent. But they might not all work for you; that's why there's more than one way to stop smoking. Of course, I have my favorite methods based on my own clinical experience - and on which methods get the best results in the shortest amount of time. The key to quitting smoking, however, is finding a method that works for you. Here's a list of ten-ways that are commonly used by people to quit smoking:

1. Cold-turkey/Will-power. This method is probably the most common method of quitting; though it may be the most difficult. Quitting with will power alone requires a firm resolve to quit smoking and a strong mind that is able to reason-through the cravings with mental focus and determination.

2. Hypnosis. Hypnosis is a very old, very commonly-used, and very effective method of quitting smoking or changing practically any habit you no longer want to keep. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis are completely safe, and incredibly effective - assuming you have a good therapist.

3. Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). I have seen someone completely lose a cigarette craving in less than two-minutes by simply tapping on a couple acupuncture points while focusing on their craving. EFT is by far the quickest method I have used to help people stop smoking; and it is highly-effective. Best of all, it can be learned for FREE and it can be used on practically any mental, emotional, or physical problem, condition, issue, or habit.

4. Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Like hypnosis and EFT, NLP helps change the way you associate thoughts and behaviors - and anchors and triggers - that connect the events in your life with the behavior of smoking. This method can be much quicker than hypnosis, and is very effective.

5. Psychological Kinesiology (Psych-K). This is another technique designed to "re-wire" the way your desires are expressed as thought and action. Psych-K is one of the more effective change-techniques being used today.

6. Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT). TAT, like EFT, utilizes the acupuncture meridian system - without using needles. By focusing your attention on the problem or condition you wish to clear or eliminate, while using acupuncture points, the stored tension causing the unwanted behavior is released.

7. The BodyTalk System. Another method that uses both kinesiology and the acupuncture meridian system, BodyTalk is a complete health care modality that can eliminate a smoking habit as if it were nothing more than an allergy (allergies are also easily eliminated with most of these methods). BodyTalk is safe, effective, and non-invasive; but you'll need a trained practitioner for this method to work.

8. Acupuncture. Many of the methods on this list are based on the acupuncture meridian system - and the fact that you don't actually have to penetrate the skin with needles to affect change in that system. Nonetheless, the needles work too. Acupuncture really is virtually painless; and it is somewhat effective with helping people stop smoking.

9. Laser. Laser treatment involves directing a cold-laser at specific acupuncture points to reduce the craving, increase metabolism, and reduce stress. While opponents claim that laser therapy results are indistinguishable from placebos, the same claim can be made about most pharmaceuticals, as well. I do not have personal experience with this approach; but people have used this method with success. And, don't discount the placebo effect - quitting is quitting.

10. Drugs. In my mind and experience, drugs are the most dangerous and least effective of these methods. Cigarettes are employed as stress-management tools; and drugs that alter the way cigarettes work, or alter the way you feel about cigarettes, without removing the underlying stress, or causes for the smoking, is more like sweeping a problem under the rug than solving it. All drugs have side-effects; and some of them are even worse than those of cigarettes.

I recommend you check into each of these methods if you are trying to stop smoking; and you should probably start with the safest, quickest, easiest, and least-expensive methods first - for obvious reasons. Though the cold-turkey method is the least expensive of all, it is potentially the most difficult, as well. EFT, TAT, and Hypnosis are the three quickest, safest, easiest, and - with free manuals available online - potentially the least expensive of all of the clinical methods listed. But, ultimately, you need to find the method that works for you. And, if you use a clinician, or therapist of some kind, you need to find one you resonate with. And, most important of all, you need to make sure that your firm decision to stop smoking - by any means - is a decision you are making for yourself and nobody else. It's okay to want to stop smoking for your spouse or children; but, if you aren't doing it for you, your chances of success aren't that great. Look into each of these methods; and just remember that if someone else has done it, you can too. Good luck!
