Easy Ways to Quit Smoking - And Not Suffer Nicotine Withdrawal

You know that smoking is bad for you. As a smoker, you virtually all know that it's bad for you. It's annoying how often everyone tells you how bad it is, but you're afraid of how hard it is to quit smoking, with good reason.

Quitting smoking is supposed to be hard. Tobacco companies want everybody to think that quitting is hard, so less people quit. Less people quitting means more people smoking, which means more money in their pockets. Makes sense.

The problem is, even people who want you to quit smoking will tell you that quitting is hard. There are a massive amount of support groups, medications, patches, and gums that are all supposed to make quitting easier, because it's so obscenely difficult.

At this point, you're probably wondering why you're reading this. Nobody wants to do anything hard. If it were easy to quit smoking, then you'd do it, but if it's so hard, why bother? Push it off to another day, or set another quit date that you're not going to stick to anyway.

That's the mentality that keeps people smoking and results in so many cases of lung cancer and emphysema. You can put it off another day, one more day can't hurt, right?

Breathe easily (and without hacking!) though, because there are easy ways to quit. You just have to understand the way that smoking addiction works. Nicotine addiction works because of the way that society has decided that it will work. People start smoking all the time because they believe that it will somehow benefit them, and before they know it, they're hooked because they have convinced themselves that there is some unseen benefit to smoking when, say, stressed.

I originally started smoking to help myself study. I convinced myself that smoking a cigarette while studying for an exam would help me learn better. Then, I began smoking right before exams, and then right afterwards to calm my nerves, and before I knew it, I was a pack a day smoker.

Quitting works exactly the same, only in reverse. All those times that you've convinced yourself that you need a cigarette, you don't. Work on convincing yourself at those times that you don't actually need a cigarette. I reached that point a few months before actually quitting, though, because I kept putting it off.
